I'm interested to know how many percent of employers are happy with their helpers. By being gererally happy I mean to a degree that you won't consider of replacing/terminating her.

I'll start first. Yes I'm very happy with my helper.

Good news for you! YOu're really lucky!
I'm not, I am always on the verge of terminating her, but also afraid of getting an even worst one!

Hi Sandy,
I've read from other ladies in this forum that you should not wait too long if you are truly not happy with yours... Because they are a lot of good ones out there and with time and patience and luck, you'll get one eventually whom 'you cannot live without'...Fingers crossed for you!

yes extremely happy with ours. she is not perfect but nor am I so i overlook the cooking because she is great with the kids, very discreet and a genuinely lovely person.

Congratulations to the ladies who are so happy with your helpers! I'm by no means discouraging those who are unhappy with theirs, on the contrary, I hope that people can have faith that there are indeed good helpers out there. Just keep looking until you get the right one for you and your family:)

I'm actually v interested reading this thread. I'm on my first helper.(new to all this) We hired her because she seems very honest, has good attitude and seems genuinely caring about our children. Negative side: her cooking ability is poor. (Trying to train her up at the moment and she is trying - but she's having difficulty saying goodbye to all the oil and salt!), she is very forgetful and lacks common sense sometimes. I'm going back to work on a few months and I'm going through the 'ahhh - what to do' phase..Children are the priority, so it it better to ignore the odd frustration with less important things rather than risk getting someone who is less caring about the kids..? I'm intererested to what makes up the 'perfect helper' and how easy they are to come by. My rational at the moment is that you're not going to get a mixture of Mary Poppins and Gordon Ramsey willing to work for a helper's wage????!

yes.

sadly, our helper has just announced that she is heading to canada. i knew this was coming...she told me when she applied to the agency months ago.

our helper is discreet, loyal, loving to the kids, flexible and tries her hardest every single day. she doesn't sulk and we talk out communication issues. i am going to miss her.
