I've spoken to other friends who went to the presentation and they got given this same information. I guess we were just unfortunately low on the list when they were allocating the random numbers. I have other friends who didn't even get an interview so we were fortunate to be given the opportunity in the first place. Anyway, what will be will be, I was just curious to hear from other people who may have been wait listed.

I know that we will get accepted by August because a lot of people are willing to pay the $10k just for holding the place. So let befriend! I just PM you.

Atomic, I can't seem to work out how to PM you back. I got your message but it has now disappeared. Our play visit was on Jan 16. When was yours?

Hi Pinkballerina.
We also went for the play visit on Jan 16th and we too received a letter over the weekend stating that our son had been successful at interview but that unfortunately the school had reached full capacity. So like you, we have been put on the waiting list too. We are category one too, our son is mixed race (australian/african) so it was very disappointing to be put on waiting list. We are hoping we get an offer before school commences in August. Do you think this is likely to happen? I mean they did say they try to place all the kids who were "successful" but didn't get a place because of random selection. Do you know anyone who has been waitlisted and then later offered a place? Or is it really a polite way of saying "please find other schools"?

Yes, we were waitlisted. went to interview on 18th jan, got the offer for a place first week of Feb. This is Tsing Yi. They usually hv around 500 applicants and waitlisted person no 300 got in, so good chance.

Could you explain more about "... around 500 applicants and waitlisted person no 300 got in ..." please?

We know we will eventually get an offer. Maybe in August or July instead of any time soon. What do you think?

Our entry waitlist number is within 220 in Hillside!
