Yew Chung International School

Hi All,

Any parents here who have their children in Yew Chung and would like to comment on the postives and negatives. I don't hear much about this school eventhough it is supposed to be the only other school besides CIS which is truly bi-lingual. Our 3-year old is fluent in English and Putonghua right now and we would like to keep it that way. ;-) She is also on the list for CIS but as the chance of getting a spot there is almost nil, we have our hopes set on Yew Chung....

Thanks so much!

My son is at Yew Chung K2, his class has 22 students with 2 teachers (one english, one cantonese) and a full time cleaner, the mandarine teacher visits the class once a week, there is violin class from k2 onwards. It follows IB. I was told they will move to proper bi-lingual in primary (50% english, 50% mandarine). Kids get very well looked after, they are trained to be independent, such as making own beds, taking off and putting socks and shoes on, serving lunch on their own... very big outdoor space, so kids get proper exercise. The majority students are local, with a few mix race or western kids in each class, and you get cantonese parents meeting!
