Year1 interview

My 5yo daughter has an interview for a place at island christian academy soon, I'm just wondering what sort of things she will be asked and how to prepare her? Any input would be appreciated!

Laura, My son currently attends ICA in Y2 but as we were part of the very, very first Y1 class which was actually held at the Small World Campus last year we didn't go through the 'formal interview' which all other kids have for SY 2012-13 and beyond. That said I have had friends children go through the interview and as far as we could gather (as it comes from the kids, you will not be in there) they have a very nice time doing some playing and having a story. I really wouldn't worry too much the teachers doing it are so lovely that it will be a really nice experience for her! Rather like the ESF interview, I think the main focus is to check she speaks English to the required standard and that she doesn't have any Learning difficulties which you have not highlighted on her application (not that you would I am sure, but I am guessing some parents do!!!!) Good luck, it is a truly wonderful school!!!

Thanks so much for putting my mind at rest, I've heard so many positive comments about the school I am looking forward to seeing it for myself!
