Woodlands Harbourside vs Sunshine House Tai Tam for South Side of Hong Kong Island

We are about to move to Hong Kong with a soon to be 5 year old boy and 3 year old girl. We are considering the South Side of Hong Kong Island and it appears the only availability for early 2013 we are being offered is Woodlands Harbourside vs Sunshine House Tai Tam.

While there is Woodlands Beachside in Repulse Bay we would not want our eldest to have to have to move schools in June so soon after arriving.

I would appreciate if anyone has any comments about either Woodlands Harbourside or Sunshine House Tai Tam?

Alternatively we are considering Discovery Bay and it looks like Sunshine House DB plaza is our option. Again, any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Thank you!

If you are going to be in the Southside, you should check out Morningstar Preschool in Pokfulam- it's up the road from Woodlands Harbourside. My son will be starting Nursery there in January and I believe there are still spaces available for Kindergarten.

We have a 4-year-old at Sunshine House in Tai Tam and are pretty happy with it. His two main teachers are really good (his head teacher speaks to children in a sophisticated and mature way, the same way my favorite teacher in a class for gifted kids used to speak), and he is already learning to write and do math. But the place is also nurturing, full of play and fun. After studying the solar system and astronauts for two weeks, his class took a field trip to the space museum. They also have been practicing for weeks now, singing to live piano accompaniment, for a Christmas concert. I like the school director a lot and find her to be warm, personable and very engaged.

The school offers a decent Mandarin program if you are so inclined, with a bilingual stream that is almost half and half for older kids.

Would think your options include include Southside Kindergarten in Repulse Bay, Sunshine House Tai Tan, Tutor Time Tai Tam, Woodlands, and International Montessori School in Ap Lei Chau, HighGate Peak. Good luck!
