Hi,

We have just found out that we are moving to HK in August and after reading this forum I am worried that we will have a hard time enrolling our son (eight years old) in a good school. My husband will work close to Sheung Shui which limit our options regarding schools and housing.

I have contacted a few schools in Kowloon, Tai Po and Clearwater Bay and found out that the Hong Lok Yuen International School might have a spot for him. Does someone has information about that school? How about living in Tai Po? Do we need to have two cars in order to make life easier or can I manage without? Any suggestions on where in Tai Po to live?

My son is currently enrolled in an American School. Does anyone have any expericence with changing to a British school?

Information about the school is available here: http://www.hlyis.edu.hk/

I live in CWB area - so don't know that much about Tai Po - but I hear that Hong Lok Yuen is quite suburban.

According to this website it has a ParkNshop and other facilities

I'm an American, but my kids were born here and are growing up here, so I can't really tell what differences there are between the systems in the primary stage.
