waiting list for QBS (ESF)

Hi, we are Americans living in Singapore right now. We are moving to HK this May, and would like to put our kids (aged 9 and 4) in QBS (we will be living in Happy Vallay, QBS catchment area).
My 4 years will become 5 this Sep, so he should start his year 1 this Sep.
I wonder if there is any waiting list in QBS, and also would like to know if that is long or short, if there is any possibilities for our kids to be accepted.

There are usually waiting lists, especially for the younger groups. When I went for a tour in August, they didn't have spaces for year 1 but did have for year 2 (but school had already started at that point). But it can change any day especially these days. My oldest will start QBS in September, she was accepted after an interview earlier this year. She'll turn 5 next month. They interviewed close to 140 children for 120 spots. I know my upstairs neighbor won't go (she got accepted but also at CIS where her brother is), and another boy I know got a tentative spot, but won't go (either HKIS or HKA), so I think you should call, and keep calling. QBS is usually a little easier since it is much more Asian than Bradbury (they currently have 60 non-Chinese speaking on the waiting lists, many kids I know) and non-Chinese speakers / English speakers (cat. 1) get priority. It may be a last minute thing but my guess is you should be OK!

Mr. Taylor is a nice guy, please feel free to pm me. My daughter is also American (born in Chicago).

I heard with GSIS moving, there are more families considering ESF schools and Bradbury and possibly Quarry Bay are going to see an increase in applications.

That's indeed right. I would act now and use the Corporate Scheme in order to get your applications in. It's all on the website ...

I am sending emails to QBS many times, but no reply at all. I will be calling them on Mon, but I am starting think that they are lazy (is it really a good school?). All other international schools are so kind to reply quite early, only QBS is ignorant.... What do you think?

Hi, Mom2Sofie&Twins. I tried to send pm to you, but could not...says that i am not allowed to send pm to you. I want some advise from you. Is there any way to contact you?

my friend matt contacted esf the other day and was told where on the waitlist his children are. i don't think QBS is a particularly "lazy" school??
