Small World or ESF?

Which one would you choose, given the choice? Small World or ESF Hillside? Is it really difficult to get into ESF Primary School if your child goes to Small World instead?

Please advise!

I was in the same decision between ESF Hillside and Woodlands. I went to Woodlands. We had no problem getting into ESF (Peak) but we opted instead to go to HKIS this year.

Here are my notes from my visit to Hillside. I later discovered that another person on the tour also felt as I did and our children were classmates at Woodside (she recognized me at a parent's night event).

Class size, travel time, and Mandarin offerings were the primary concerns. We just moved here from a rather rural area in the US and our son did not have much experience with other children (couple play dates a week at most). Moving to the Woodlands class of about 8-10 was an easier transition compared to an open room of four classes of 20. We felt he would benefit more from a smaller class size (which was also a consideration when we chose HKIS over ESF Peak).

If you really want to get into ESF, I wouldn't risk it and at least make sure you have priority for ESF. Take Hillside.
