Schools in or around Sai Wan Ho

We are considering moving to Sai Wan Ho. I just wanted to check if there were good kindergarten schools in and around the area. We kept reading about something called Victoria Kornhill but is that a pre-primary or primary school? Are there any other options?

Any advice here would be appreciated.

Cheers

Welcome KSM,

Victoria (Kornhill) Nursery offers English stream, Bilingual stream and Trilingual stream for children aged 8 months to 3 years. They also offer a pre-primary course to prepare kids academically for the jump to primary level classes. They operate an IB Primary Years Program, and classes are available for the full 5 days a week, 4 days, 3 days, 2 days, or even 1 day a week.

Another school you may be interested in offers Montessori style pre-school education: Island Children's Montessori.

The Montessori classroom provides a prepared environment where children are given the opportunity to respond to their natural tendency to work. The learning materials are specifically designed to help them explore their world and develop essential cognitive skills. Children work freely at their own pace, and in the process develop self-confidence, inner discipline and a joy of learning, free from peer competition. The mixed-age setting also encourages children to develop their personalities socially and intellectually at their own pace.

Best of luck!

Korean Int'l School is located in SWH and offers classes from Foundation (4yo - I believe). I went there with my son for interview last year. the school is quite nice, also admin and principal were very helpful.

PS: we chose other int'l school for my son at the end because it offered full immersion in english/mandarin, but had very good impression of the Korean School.

Thanks Editor and kristaje. Kristaje, can I just ask which school did you ultimately put your son in? Thanks

he's in int'l montessori school now and loving it! the mandarin immersion works much better that we thought too...it's only his first month there and he can now sing few songs, say hello - good morning - bye2 to his mandarin teachers and friends, and even recite a poem for the mid-autumn fest.
