school bus ride time

Hi,
I have a 2 and half year old girl and she need to take school bus to her new school and I realized that the riding time would be almost an hour.

Is this normal in Hong Kong? The bus goes all around Shek O beach and Big Wave .... The roads itself gives me a bit of worries and to let her ride an hour... well I really don't know what to do.
If this is normal in Hong Kong to ride on a bus an hour, then I shall get used to it but if this is abnormal, I need to pull her out from the school list.

Could anybody give me tips on this???
Thank you....

Hi Sarah,

1 hour is a bit long. I think at that age my kids rode the bus for about 30 minutes or so - but we lived fairly close to the kindie.

Would it be possible to avoid the school bus (do your own drop-off and pick up?)?

Or, look for a kindie closer to home. You know your child best. I remember when I was planning to send #2 to nursery school at the same age as #1 had started. Mr. Husband said "No, not ready yet. He's not as mature as #1 was at the same age." So, we waited, and I'm glad we did.

I hope you come to a good resolution of the problem.

Thanks a lot

Loupou,

Thanks for your advice. I still don't know what to do. Hong Kong mums tell me, it's okay.... Other expat wifes tell find another kindie...

I will take into account your message and will decide soon. Thank you again.

Sarah:)
