raucous/ hoarse voice

My 2 years old suddenly has hoarse voice(has little cough at night too), what treatment should i do? he still cannot understand not to talk nor laught. hanks.

more water - perhaps you can make him apple / pear soup....pear soup is best though...it is sweet and will soothe the throat.
