what i learn from my friend is, the teachers there are teaching with heart, kids are happy to go there....

Thanks for the reply diva ! People said they are true Montessori ! Plan to sign up for my daughter but their school Premise is very very small ! Anymore input regarding the class size and the academic level? Thanks !

I haven't seen it recently, but when I did look around for a preschool for my first child, I decided on another even though we live very close to Stanley Montessori. There were two issues I had, the first being the premises. I thought they were rambling, old, dark and not well equipped with resources. The second issue was the way the mandarin was taught, just through parallel teaching. I was looking for true mandarin teaching (Ie. One teacher teachers only in English for one hour, the next only in mandarin for one hour). Having said that, I know people that have loved their experience there and I think it boils down to individual choice. Take a look around though as IMS is opening in Sept in Stanley Plaza and this will be true montessori also. There are also choices at Red Hill and Repulse Bay if its Montessori you're after. My second child is just not a montessori child, so I haven't even re-visited the school for her!

I've heard many complaints about class size (too many kids in the school) and the small premises, no proper outdoor space and very high fees.

As a mom whose child went to this school, I very much recommend it. My child did very well here in a very nurturing environment and learned so much and developed so much. I can also add that my child had offers from two highly regarded international schools, as a result of the time spent at Montessori for Children.

The school will have a workshop on Saturday September 28 from 9-10 am. It will talk about the Montessori teaching method. Find out more about it on 28139589.The school has done a lot of upgrading during the summer. It is a long established school around 28 years on the Southside and teaches true Montessori. They still have some vacancies in the morning.
