Choosing between a sound monitor or one that also detects movement? Any suggestions? Also, what brands are preferred?

The Angel Care monitor gives you both options. You can switch off the motion sensor if you don't want it.

i have one angelcare & one with a camera. i was a bit freaked about baby note breathing, so the angelcare was quite useful. and once baby starts moving, you'd love to see him/her toss around the cot without having to go in.
