Migrating to Sai Kung with a 4 year old and 2 year old!

Can anyone suggest international primary schools that I can waitlist my 4 year old onto that is good? I have looked into ESF CWBS only, is the waitlist opened yet?

Will they be put off if I put him into a local school in Sai Kung 'Lok Yuk' first or would they not mind it?

I presume your child was born in 2009, if so, then you can apply to ESF Clearwater Bay between Sept 1 – 30 through ESF Central allocations. You cannot put your child on the waitlist now for ESF Clearwater Bay.

Other international schools that you would accept your application are: Hong Kong Academy, Hong Lok Yuen and Japanese Int’l School. Apply now as they all have long waitlists. If you decide for your child to enter a local Kindergarten then make sure that English is the home language as your child will be tested in English. The schools will not frown upon your decision of selecting a local Kindergarten. The main priority is that your child demonstrates fluent English skills and has the academic and social ability to study in an English – learning environment. Other schools to explore for Pre-School would be SKIP, Garden House, Sunshine House and Woodlands.

Me and my husband are fluent English speakers so we will be constantly speaking to the kids in English so hopefully that will help for now till they get to a primary school interview are these international schools very similar in pricing as well?

HK academy is moving to the area starting next academic year.

You may also consider Renaissance College in Ma On Shan, it's part of the ESF system but one of their private independent schools (so I believe they do admissions separately, might want to call them). Oh and if you are into Waldorf, Forest House Primary school (extension of Garden House) is starting this year in CWB.
