Maclaren USA recall on umbrella strollers

I'd heard about this on the grapevine as well. It will be interesting to see how B2B copes with the saga.

The affected models include Volo, Triumph, Quest Sport, Quest Mod, Techno XT, Techno XLR, Twin Triumph, Twin Techno and Easy Traveller.

Both links are down -- but plenty of results on google.

Also wonder what this means for so many of us maclaren users in HK

From an MSNBC article:

The affected models include Volo, Triumph, Quest Sport, Quest Mod, Techno XT, Techno XLR, Twin Triumph, Twin Techno and Easy Traveller, according to the stroller company. The strollers, which are manufactured in China, are sold nationwide.

Bah, another example of us having to pay for the shipping cost from factory to the UK and back to HK for baby products and actually most other things too.. =P

I spoke to Maclaren HK this afternoon too, was told the repair kit would be available from next Monday. Their general line is 29022888. Guess they would be overwhelmed by inquiries at this moment. Lady told me I could go to their office anytime from Monday to pick it up.

hi kyojee

thanks for letting us know.. just one question please.. do we need to bring proof of purchase ie receipt? i threw out my receipts months back.. however.. there is a sticker on my stroller which says i bought from mothercare in HK which supposedly be as good as a receipt. Or do we need to bring the stroller in as proof?

many thanks!

Hi Augustbump,

I asked if I needed any proof of purchase too, or if i needed to bring my stroller, the replied was no. was told to simply make a trip to their office, and provide some details of the stroller. Guess it's a voluntary recall and they can't expect us to keep our receipts? I spoke to a lady by last name Choi, but should you wish to double confirm, I reckon giving them a call could give a peace of mind. Last thing I wish for is for you to pop down and them refuting what they told me! =)

Cheers~~~
