I live in Bel Air, Im looking for a playgroup class for my 21 month old son, afterwards I would like him to continue at the same school for nursery. Any good suggestions?

I enrolled my son in Bigfoot Kindergarten, he will start in September. What I liked about Bigfoot is that the teacher student ration is low, school fee are reasonable and the teachers are friendly native speakers.

Hi samantha C
I am moving to Bel Air in August with my family from the UK - we also have a 21 month old son. I was talking to a friend who used to send her children to woodlands / panda in PFL and spoke very highly of it. We did live in HK 7 years ago, but were living in mid-levels and I sent my older 2 children to Small World, which was just amazing!!!. I also did kindermusik and gymbaroo with them which they loved!
I would be really keen to start up a playgroup once I am out there!
PM me if you are interested, and maybe our little ones can 'hang out' :)

Been to Bigfoot during summer but i only saw 3 students in the classroom. I am afraid they will close down due to lack of student enrollment. If they don't improve the condition of the campus, it will be hard to attract parents to join the school.

Morningstar Preschool

I visited Morningstar Preschool last week (down the street from Big Foot). The school is natural and very calm. The teachers there are really nice. I enrolled my child for Nursery and Music Together programs next semester.

Hi Jaray87, can you tell us a bit more of Morningstar's teaching method? The per class tuition fee is considered expensive, I wonder what's their uniqueness?

Hi sunshineliu, my daughter's only been in the nursery program for about 2 months, but she absolutely loves it and is eager to go everyday. This is what I've observed so far: Morningstar integrates the Music Together program into their daily class routine - my daughter now sings out of the blue all the time! The children make homemade organic breads with different flavours, I receive many pictures of my daughter at the end of the month, and sometimes daily if there is an interesting occurrence. Documentation of children is also sent frequently to parents.

Because Morningstar is a reggio-emilia inspired preschool, all children there are encouraged to think rather than memorize - take a look at their brochure, they have a bunch of stuff about this approach.

Ultimately, as agreed with the other parents I've spoken to, the teachers there genuinely care for the well-being of their students. Because of the teachers and also the fact that the entire school feels like a second home to my daughter, the transition into daily school life was a lot smoother than I had expected - mind you, my daughter did cry a lot the first week there but the teachers were SO SO patient.

I wasn't part of the parent & child playgroup so cannot comment specifically but would think it is the same as nursery. I would encourage you to go for a visit.
