Hi Everyone,

I would be moving to HK pretty soon from Canada and would like to know how is the local education system like for my 2 year son. We will be living in Western District Hong Kong and which local school should my son apply for? Is there fees I should pay?

Thanks very much.

Sincerely yours,

Alvyn

My children all went to the Caritas Kindergarten on Caine Road. I was very impressed with this school. The address says Central but it is actually in Mid-levels. I believe they have a sister school in High Street.

I like it because they do a lot of playing and slowly build in more and more structure over the three years. The staff are very loving and friendly. It is a very popular school and they usually hand out the forms to apply for the next year early (in October if I remember correctly). The children usually starts in the August/September of the year they are three years old. But as you are just arriving in Hong Kong I'd ask them to make an exception and allow you to apply late.
