Cocol, thanks for your sharing. I also appreciate the more 'international' environment in IMS. I visited the campus several times last week to observe the students, and I believe I want my little girl to be one of them.
Back to your question, it takes 8 days for us to get the offer after the assessment. Not too long... but it takes a while.

In my humble opinion, I think the top international schools are looking for confident, independent children whose families share the same values as the school. The reason why some think there are "feeders" is because some KGs more than others tend to foster those traits more than others.

I agree as well. At the end of the day, the secondary schools will be looking at the individual child holistically in opposed to which school they are from. As for how the child is nurtured during KG and/or Primary stage(s), the school does play a vital part. The key is to prepare the child well for life, and that's why i love the Montessori system. I probably will put him in some after hour Montessori classes (ie. DMS has Saturday Montessori math), since apparently CDNIS reception is only 2.5 hours long per morning!! (IMS is 3.5 hours)

As to preparing the child well for life, i must commend on how in IMS primary, each child has their handbook with a list of tasks to complete per week. The teacher will review them and assist the child in completing their weekly assignments in school. Doesn't that sound just like what our real work work place habit is like (without the help from a teacher of course, but with a boss breathing down our back if we cannot complete our work). I think Montessori training really helps children prepare not just for high school, but life long learning and working habits!!
