Kellett, Hong Kong Academy and Hong Lok Yuen

We are looking at moving to HK next year. We are trying to look realistically at a descent school we can get out kids into (year 6 and 4). We can live anywhere and will make that decision based on the school they get into. We want a school that will ideally give them a good education, will be fun, and have ok facilities. Right now the top realistic choices in our mind are Kellett, Hong Kong Academy and Hong Lok Yuen/ICHK. Just looking for any general feedback on what peoples general thoughts are on these schools, how they compare and what our chances are at obtaining placement. Thanks in advance for any information.

When exactly are you moving to HK? Are you looking for a place for the upcoming school year, 2013-2014 or the following? If you're looking for this coming year, you need to apply ASAP. Kellett have ads in the local papers that they still have space available at both their Pok Fu Lam and Kowloon Bay campuses.

Have you called any of the schools and spoken to their admissions person? Schools close on June 28th, so you don't have a lot of time. I would get on the phone right away. HK Academy and Kellett are moving/opening new campuses this summer, their operations staff should still be around over the break.

There's aso a new school opening in 2014, Nord Anglia

Good Luck!

We are ideally looking at coming back to HK September 2014 (just over a year from now). We do have flexibility in our move as was are already located in Asia and my husband's work is already based out on HK. So that means we could do a mid year move. A number of schools have said it can often be easier to get a spot mid school year as everyone is not always open to it. I have been in contact with admissions offices and am hoping to tour Kellett and HKA once the new campus's are open. I've read everything I can on all of the forums about the specific schools but am wondering if anyone knows much about these schools and how they compare. ICHK is also under consideration (as it's the feeder from Hong Lok Yuen).

We appreciate any feedback.
