International primary schools with a little bit more Cantonese/Mandarin

PTH = putonghua

Don't know anyone who goes to CAIS so can't give any comment. Wow, you are way ahead to do all the research - I thought your daughter is only at pre-school !!

>> And any comment / advice on Christian Alliance

you better specify a few aspects you particularly want to know more

CAIS offer one year K3 age 5-6, then
Grade One all the way up to secondary level

Yeah I know I might be a bit over-stressed, but just wanna to look for more information and plan for her future studying path so as to minimize the chance of wasting time and effort to switch her to different schools from time to time in the future.

Look for comment on:
1. Teachers teaching enthusiasm;
2. Students general academic level;
3. Homework loads;
4. $$$ on extra school activities, would lots of $ involved for such activities;
5. or any general comment, if any

I know there is not much mandarin/chinese involved at school, one thing that is good for me is that the school is associated with Canada school system and that it is my plan to send my daughter to Canada for university study probably after her secondary school.

Primary school with English and mandarin teaching

Hi,
I have a daugther 4 years old. Am planning for her future study for primary school. Does any one know which school is good for learning Mandarin and English?
Local school seems too stressful in homework. International schools may stress too much on English. Any suggestions?
She is now in Tutor Time which is exactly half English half Mandarin. Unfortunately Tutor time has no primary school...:thanks

There are a number of local primary schools which provide bilingual curriculum. I am not sure if you are looking for International school (with high % of foreigners?)

To name a few:
1) PLK TSL (local school follows local curriculum, with a certain % of non-Chinese). However, they got almost 4000 applicants for P1 last year.
2) PLK CKY (local school but offers IB IBDP, most of the students are local Chinese, have very good reputation from parents). However, they got almost 3000 applicants for P1 last year too.

3) TTPSKG IJSS (Intl Junior school section): most of the students are local Chinese, follows 70% local and 30% IB/ AP curriculum, students are using local Chinese textbooks and the Chinese classes are taught by Beijing native speaking teachers. Maths in English. Plus, Japanese and French every week taught by native speaking teachers. And then, all other subjects are taught in English by native speaking teachers.
