hk consumer council just gave a report on the dehumidifyers on the market. i haven't read it yet, but you can get the report in this month's "choices" magazine", but it's in chinese. let me try & google to see whether an english version of the report is available.

zen, it must be your 1st spring here in hk. it's like this in spring (march til may) in hk. i remember when i was small, we used to say that the walls & floors are "sweating". we survive with dehumifiers in every rm in the house & "elephants" in each closet. remember to throw out the elephants are full. and keep the air cons on "dry" instead of "cool".

i mean, throw out the elephant once they are filled with water & replace. i actually have them in the closets all year round.
