This might sounds like a sill quesion but I'm new mum and I have no one to help or give advice here....
At what age can I take my 2 months old baby out? I live in Discovery Bay and I take my aby out and around 2-3 times a week. But when I went to HK side, mostly at IFC, people were looking at me and my baby. May be I'm too paranoid but I want to be sure that I didn't do anything wrong....

they were looking at you because you have a beautiful, (new-ish) baby!

the stares dont' stop. i still get people looking at my 3 year old and my 1 year old.

Adahc, we went out the day after I got discharged from hospital. But of course, we weren't in Hong Kong. We were in Sydney.

I reckon you take your baby out when you feel you are both ready ;-)

its probably whenever you are comfortable . I only started taking bubs out (under advice of elderly chinese grandparents) only from 3 months onwards.

i started taking both my kids as soon as i felt that i was able to handle them out and about after a c-section.

Not taking your baby out seems to be a chinese thing.

My son and I came home from the hospital on day 2, we were out and about by day 5.
Without the luxury of a helper, people in the rest of the world have no choice but to take their baby with them everywhere they go.
So staying at home for more than a couple of weeks isn't usually an option.

My son loved going out. He was a fussy baby and going out meant he would sleep well in either a carrier or pram.

Unless someone touches your baby,( easy enough to stop, trust me!) what exactly do people worry will happen?

It took me 3mths to feel confident as a new parent to go out for leisure on my own with my newborn. i too dont have a helper so other than for dr./hospital visits i was home. it was like this for a few reasons, i was excllusively pumping and had to stick to my rigorous pumping schedule which was completely not outting friendly, i had had a c-section, and my son was 1.5mth premature and our dr./QMH kept telling me to prevent sickness!! haha i was so paranoid and freaked out. I think under any other circumstance i would have been able to go out earlier but at the time i was just so tired - my son hardly slept those few months in the beginning. I think the decision is definitely up to you and what you're comfortable with :) As long as you're ok with it, go out!! lol i find in hk people just stare regardless, just ignore them and don't let it stop you from enjoying your time out with baby :)

I started taking my bb out when she was 1 month old & we were both very happy. As previously mentioned by other experience mothers, as long as you're comfortable with what you're doing and everything under your control then there's nothing to worry about.
I think the main reason why people looked at you in IFC is because there's usually not many children around there during weekdays especially during office hours since there's hardly any children's shops in the mall except zara that sells a bit of children's clothing.
