We got a goldfish from the one on the corner of Second Street and Western Street in Sai Ying Pun. It was one of those really fat ones (so round it resembled an egg) and had those bulging eyes. It lives in a fairly small tank with no special equipment and has its water changed every 3 days to keep clean and also sufficiently aerated. I just use the water straight from the tap, but do allow it to stand for an hour to get to room temperature. We did give him the food from Taiwan, as it happens to be what we had on hand leftover from those guppies that we used to have and died every days. It's been with us for about three months. It's a great first pet for young children. Guppies are much more delicate and sensitive to cold weather.
