This is a lovely idea.
We also did gold too. Very practical and it was my husband's. my kids were born in the year of the ox and rabbit. my husband got a bull and a rabbit for each of our son when they were born.

About two years ago we bought an ounce and it has almost doubled in value! Even if gold prices drop it's still beautiful and LASTS!

Wait and see, friend. Wait and see. No matter what, gold will never be worthless. Can't say the same for the paper currency we have in our wallets right now.

A bottle of wine for the year they were born, my ex boyfriends mum bought a crate for him we drank one on his 18th birthday kept another for his 21st and sold the rest at a fab profit. I remember being so impressed that his mum had kept a gift that long.
