German Swiss & ESF Glenearly

My daughter has been accepted by GSIS & ESF (Glenearly) for Primarly 1 this September can anyone tell me which school is really better?

Both are good schools! GSIS class sizes are smaller. I went to Glenealy and loved it! It's a small school and parents/teachers have a good rapport.

Main Difference - A-levels vs. IB

I think the main difference (other than location, price, opportunity for in-depth German language instruction) is that GSIS is still preparing kids for the GSCE and the A-levels, and the ESF has moved towards the IB.

At least, that is what I have heard from a friend whose girls are in secondary.

With you child about to enter P-1, it may seem very remote, but it seems like yesterday that my dd was in P-1 and she is now in P-6 and will start secondary in September.

HI Cheriseleung,
may I ask you which kindergarten did your daughter go to? I also would like my daughter to go to GSIS or ESF. She's not ready for any school yet, but would like to know in advance which kindergarten is good. Thanks!
Mei mei

Mei Mei, My daugther goes to Small World Christian Kindergarten (Borret Road). It is a really good school my daughter really loves it. We decided to go for ESF at the end as GSIS has increased their debenture from 100,000 to 250,000 starting from this year. I don't think it's worth that much really. Plus the staff are not really helpful. Imagaine my daughter will grow up in that atmosphere!

HI Cheriseleung,
thanks for your reply. May I ask you if you speak to your child in English or Chinese? Since ESF and GSIS requires their applicants to be native English speaker. How do you prepare your child for the interview? Love to get your advise! Thanks!!

Hi cheriseleung,

Is your daughter admitted to K2 or P1 at German Swiss?
