A little surprised i am the only person to post on this thread! Anyway, tenatively due August 10 and interested to meet other expectant mums in HK due around the same time...

Hi I am so glad you did put your post in. I am having my first ultasound tomorrow, but think that I will be due around the same time as you. I live in Stanley and are quite new to Hong kong, only been here a few months. Would be great to keep in contact
oh, my friends call me Cat ;-)

Hello, I'm due on the 1st August with my first and am also new to HK, we just got here a couple of months ago. It would be great to have some people to chat to about this wonderful but crazy experience.

I had my first u/s on Thursday - it was amazing, we could see the little baby, and they found a heartbeat going at 118bpm, it was really emotional. Cat I hope everything went well at your appointment. I know I was quite nervous going in to get it done, and it was a real relief to be told that everything looked just as it should. Congratulation to you both! Mary

Hi Mary
I got Goosebumps when I read your reply. How funny I am also due the 1st of August as well!!!. I can?t believe how similar our stories are. I have also seen the hart beat for the first time, which was just amazing. It was just like looking into another cosmos!
I would love to keep in contact with you and meet up. My email address is [email protected]

Oooh how exciting! How are you feeling? I'm having a day off feeling completely sick and exhausted today which is making a nice change. I'd love to meet up - KCKMelb would you like to come along too? My email address is [email protected]. Cat I'll drop you a private email and we can make a plan.

Mary

Hi Girls,

Congrats to you both! How amazing that you have both seen a little heart beat - i'm have an appt this Friday and sooo nervous! I had a little bit of spotting over the weekend, so feeling a littler paranoid.

Would love to catch up with you both; but am leaving for Australia for Christmas on Saturday and stuck at work all week. I'm back first week of January - maybe i could join you both for a coffee (or cranberry juice:)) then?

If you could include me on your private emails that would be fantastic in the meantime - would be great to keep in touch.

[email protected]

Chat soon,

Kirstin

Actually forgot to ask; who have you both chosen to see (ob/gyn)? I've visited Lucy Lord on one occassion so far, and whilst she isn't the super warmest doctor i've ever been to, I take comfort in the knowledge she's one of the best here in HK. I would much prefer an extremely competent OB than someone all warm and fuzzy!

When you had your scans and saw heart beats how many weeks/days were you? Were they tummy or trans scans?

Thanks!

I saw Dr Derek Lo who's a fertility specialist. He's really good, but I don't think he is that interested in seeing me because I'm not one of his fertility treated patients. He has recommended that I go to Queen Marys Hospital, although he did say he'd keep me as a patient if I wanted him too. My scan was a trans one and I was 6 weeks based on LMP, but the Dr gave the baby a gestational age of 6 weeks 4days, which makes sense because I'm an early ovulator. It was the coolest thing ever - I wish I could go and get them done everyday! Seeing the heartbeat has really helped me relax about the pregnancy. Having said that I haven't felt that sick today, so now I'm worrying that my dot has gone and I'm going to have a m/c. I complain when I'm sick, I complain when I'm not sick - you really can't please some people!

I hope your spotting doesn't develop into anything more - Dr Google says that it's pretty common in the early stages so try not to worry.

Have a great time in Oz over Christmas - it'll be great to meet up in the new year, and I'll definitely add you to the pm emails.

Mary

Dr Google! lol love it. dreading dr spot has disappeared so feeling much better... and completely understand about the somedays feeling blurgh and somedays feeling good. best thing to do is relax and lap up the good days ; )

You enjoy your christmas also - looking forward to meeting you both over a (mock)tail in the new year!

Would love to catch up with you as well Kristin.
I have been living in Australia for the last 10 year and loving it;-). Will return in a few years time. Hope you are having a great xmas and say hello to every one from me LOL. I will be back in Hong Kong the beginning of Jan as well, so love to catch up with your both then. Going home for xmas;-)

I went to Grace Cheung, for my scan, she was fantastic. We were joking a lot and she was very funny and warm. LOOOOVE her. I could choose between Lucy and Grace and chose Grace because she is at the south side medical centre sometimes. I was 6 weeks and 4 days on the 10th of Dec.(same as you Mary;-)

I haven?t been sick at all (touch wood). I am trying to eat healthy, and am just occasionally eating chocolate and junk food. I don?t know if that is important, but seems to work. Grace told me that she did the same with her second baby and was fine, while she was very sick during her first pregnancy.

Congratulation to your both and I am very excited about meeting your both. Maybe we getting a little group together. What a great support that would be ;-)
