Fertility doctors in HK

Hi katj1004

For the first cycle Dr Yeung did a 3 day transfer of the best quality 2 embryos and then suggested that we mature the remaining 3 embryos to 5 day due to quality so she was open to do either.

We had the same question for her and she said pros and cons to both methods as there is the thought that embryos develop better in the womb since thats where they should be rather than in a lab even if the lab can produce a like environment. On the other hand as you mentioned a 5 day blast definitely has a better success rate on transfer but there is a lower rate of embryos getting to 5 day stage.

She was happy to do either but did recommend based on the egg quality and number of eggs fertilised.

We also did 3 day transfer for our second cycle.

I went to Dr. Philip Ho. We did 1 IUI and 5 IVF, all unsuccessful. In the end, I finally got pregnant by going to a clinic in the United States. I agree with previous posters that Dr. Ho is very factual and does not have a good bedside manner. I found him to be quite arrogant. I went to see him again after giving birth to discuss whether I could possibly try for a second child. He said my first one was a miracle and the last I will have. It was very heartbreaking to hear and I just don't need that. I would rather spend the money to go back to the clinic in the US for another try.

Hi 22Bobinsky - thanks for sharing your experience with Dr. Ho. I'm sorry to hear that he was quite brusque with you!
My husband and I decided to continue with Dr. Lo for IVF this cycle. Fingers crossed that it works for us the first time.

I would not consider Dr. Louis Chan. He is just an academic, and only in the busy of making money. We went through a lot of money doing tests, medicine, only to result in miscarriage.
