ESF Primary Term 1 Holidays Q?

My oldest will most likely go to ESF year 1 next year (assuming & hoping all goes well with the interview). Can somebody tell me when their autumn break is in 2009? We're planning a trip possibly using miles, so with respect to the latter, the earlier the better. Checked a few sites but haven't been able to find this. My guess is 19-23 October based on last year, but not sure.

hats off to you for your excellent planning. we were on the kennedy website today looking for similar information, but were unable to find it. if you find out, can you pls. let me know and v.v.

thank you!

I think the school calendar for the new year comes out sometime during the Spring Term. So we should know by March/April. Half term seems to be 8 weeks into the term. Assuming we go back on Aug 20th your guess is right.

Dimsum Mum, Wanted to ask you. If they move forward and extend the school day by 30 mins, have they said anything about increasing school fees? Heard the teachers want a raise.

I saw in QBS / Bradbury online newsletter that Term 1 is finalized, but I can't enter the link. They're still working on Term 2 and 3 (it's not 100% confirmed, but apparently available).

Here's the info from QBS.

ESF Calendar 2009 -2010

The public holidays for 2010 have not been confirmed by the HK Gov't and thus Term 2 and 3 are subject to change.

hello rani
i hope you and yours had a great Christmas.
i have not heard anything concrete about a fee increase, just more rumblings.
i don't think the teachers will be getting a raise, because i don't think all schools will be increasing their day by 30 minutes. the esf schools don't keep identical hours, as odd as that seems so while some schools are extending the day (kennedy), i don't think others will.

i don't think we could handle another fee increase!!!

We had a lovely and relaxing Xmas. Hope you did too :)

I hope they don't increase the fees. I remember when I was at ESF, school ended at 3pm. Our lunch break was longer and I even had time to walk home (10mins) for lunch. I'm sure they didn't cut teachers salaries when they decided shorten the school day then.

I guess we'll have to see what happens.

They've updated the calender ... it's indeed 19-23 October and we were able to book 5 tickets with our miles from 18-25, so we're happy! 26th is also still a national holiday.
