Epidural at QMH

A friend is going to pop any minute - and has a question......
If you have an vaginal birth with an epidural at QMH, is it 'hospital practice' to insert a catheter?
I know that it is common practice is you have a CS, but what about for a VB?

Hello. In answer to your question - yes they do "pop in" a catheter when having a VB at QMH with an epidural. I had this when I gave birth there, didn't feel a thing and to be honest - it wasn't a problem at all and they removed the next day, no drama's all very easy.
