Employer responsible for paying for renewal of passport?

[Buckeroo]

Hi,

Just a quick question to ask if the employer is responsible for paying for their helper's passport renewal fee?

Thanks!

No, the employer isnt.

Maybe not legally obliged but we just paid our helper's renewal. Cost her HKD 500 which is a high cost for her and for most other FDHs. She wouldn't need it if she wasn't here so we paid it - she didn't ask, we insisted.
