do teeth always erupt in pairs?

My son's first 6 teeth have always erupted in pairs, but now he's had his 7th lower lateral incisor for well over a month and still no sign of the other one. Is this still normal? Thanks.

My son's teeth have done the same - he has 11 now, and they have never come up in pairs! Usually the 2nd isn't far behind though.

They usually come in pairs, but don't worry if they don't. I'm sure the other will appear soon.
