Discovery Mind Tung Chung - any new students starting this year?

Hello All,

I got my son into this school. Although I have not been there yet it sounds fantastic....are there any parents out there whose child goes to this school or will be starting on August 15th.

We arrive in Hong Kong August 10th and have a couple of days free, we will be completely new to Honk Kong!! It would be wonderful to meet a parent/child whose going to this school and starting year 2...
I have a soon to be 6 year old boy, big into dinosaurs, super heroes, and running.....

We have applied to Discovery Minds too - Year 2 or year 3 (my daughter is 6 now) D.O.B is in September 2006, so technically it should be Y3; however, we are know in Y1 in the UK, so the teachers will help us decide which clad to join.

It's going to be either DB campus, or Tung Chung one - don't know yet, depending on availability. We plan to live in DB, so the DB campus is preferable. We are still in the UK, plan to arrive in the end of August.

I gather only after the teachers interview my daughter, when we arrive. Our HK office is currently dealing with our visas; hopefully it will be completed in 3-4 weeks.

Hello Sophie & dmitrois

I am moving to HK in feb 2014. My dd is 7 now and is doing y2 in IGCSE, India. Looing for y3 in 2014. The education scenario is totally different in India and I am quite confused about the kind of discussions that goes about in most of these forums.

I am also trying for Discovery Minds and JIS. I like DM just for the head teachers welcome note, simple and warm. I know it sounds stupid, but I find very comfortable finally going through a school website which i feel has quite a personal touch.

Anyways, have you guys joined the school. Whats the verdict?

Hello everyone, any reviews on this school and which one is better TC or DB one? Also any idea what other options we have for primary schools in this area? I plan to bring my family next year so need some info for my son who would be in P2 next year.
