Discovery Bay

When we get to Hong Kong we would like to live in Discovery Bay. As it appears that we probably wont get a school place on Lantau can anyone tell me how easy and the time it takes to get kids to school on Hong Kong Island. many thanks

how old are your kids? what system are you looking for? have you considered lantau international school? there is also a YMCA secondary school (can't remember if there is a primary section, too) in tung chung that might work.

impossible to make a blanket statement about waiting lists, except to say that most schools have them.

my daughter will be 11 yrs 24 7 2011 have tried discovery college and discovery bay in school i will look at the other one you mentioned.i have found out there are places at delia school of canada and the german swiss int section thanks for your help

I would not suggest the primary schools in Tung Chung. One look at the websites and you will understand why. They call them 'international, but they can not spell and can not speak English over the phone so I quickly ruled them out.

If you want DB then also have a look at ESF Bradbury who you may be able to jump the line a little with your companies help. Also look at Aussie International as they have a bus from DB too.

With 11 yo you would be looking at ESF Secondary, 2000 born is currently in Year 6, Year 7 in August. Year 7 places in ESF are very very difficult.
