i have never seen baby seats fastened to the wall?!?!?

I've only ever seen them at HK airport. Would be interested to know where else they are!

IFC Mall has them too.
Olympic City Mall, a loo in Tsuen Wan near the train station.

and how clean are they? (as in, okay for baby to sit relatively still fastened there?)

i flew with my little one from london/nyc when he was 3 months with the bjorn. he was strapped to me when i went to the loo on the flight. then at 9 months, i flew from HK to NYC alone and did it again with the ergo. i made sure i always wore elastic waist pants so i didn't have to fiddle with buttons or snaps when pulling up.
you gotta use those leg muscles for the best control.....it can be easily done.
