Chances of getting into Clearwater Bay?

I doubt it, my category 1 friends had to wait 1 1/2 - 2 years to get spots for their 3 children. It's highly over subscribed.

A friend didn't get a place in CWB for P1 and was offered a place in Shatin Jr school. They're also Cat 1.

However, I did see some of the new P1 kids at Kennedy a few weeks ago. And their parents were speaking to them in Cantonese, so they have accepted Cat 2 kids for next year.

Thanks for ur inputs! So what happens if the kids don't get a spot until 1-2 years? Do they go to a diff school in the meantime?

So does the school have to admit all cat1 kids before even interviewing cat2?

Sigh, I guess it's tough luck for my cat2 kid then...I was hoping CWB to be a less popular location

actually, CWB is very popular with expats. i know of 3 families that have moved there this year alone.

Superpopular, like Bradbury. Also, if we were to move to the CWB/SK area, we would get highest priority since we're already at an ESF school. These moves happen fairly frequently between different schools and all these children go straight to the top of the lists since they're already in the system.

Am surprised. The couple of kids I saw, the parents were speaking to them in Cantonese.

We have children like that too at our ESF school. It's quite similar with my children. Their first language is English (they've always been abroad), they do understand my mother tongue most of the time (my husband and I use it together and when speaking to them in general), they won't speak it to me or to eachother, and they can't properly communicate. I wouldn't know how to put them in our local system back home ... Kind of same thing I guess ...
