I have a 3yo girl. We are considering to enrol her to Box Hill Kindergarten in March this year. Any comments?

Hi mummies,

My family will be moving to Ma On Shan, and the nearest kindergarten is Boxhill.

I would be very grateful if anyone can provide me with info on Boxhill, including the fees.

Josephine - I've been to Boxhill a few times, for school visit, interview and open day. Overall, I found this kindie pretty good - the ambience is warm and fun, staff and teachers are friendly and the school principal (Ms. Faria) can be reached easily. They follow a Briitish curriculum and majority of the graduates get accepted to Renaissance College (which is just across the street). My daughter has been accepted to Boxhill but unfortunately there is no school bus service to my area, and therefore I have given it up. If you want to find out more about this kindie, you can just ring them up for a school visit.

Thanks for your help too. If it's not too much of a trouble, could you kindly tell me what actually goes on in an interview? I have absolutely no idea what it entails cos schools in my country have no such thing.

Hi, Josephine - The interview is very straight forward and involves no test on the child. Basically, the school principal wants to know the following: what language do you use at home? who takes care of the child during the day? does the child have any allergy? what makes your child cry? what does she/he like to do? what words can she/he speak so far? etc. During the interview, the school principal will also ask the child to walk around and play toys in the classroom and she will observe her/his behaviour.

Thanks again. I thought it was stressful for a small kid to go through interview. Glad to know it's really nothing.

One more thing...I am also looking at ICS and they have this debunture. Education is really expensive in HK! Wow...
Do you know if Boxhill has debenture and do schools return debenture at all?
