Any chance of getting in Grade 2 in ESF?! or any other IS?

Hi all,

I am very anxious and worried about getting a spot for my 5.5 years old girl.
We are moving back to HK late July (still in Sydney now). I have applied KCIS, QBS and CAIS for her but she is on waiting lists only.

We are not wealthy and can't afford those very expensive schools.
Any other schools that you can think of that are more affordable?
I heard that there will be more chances for students withdrawing during July/Aug. Yes?

Please advise. Thanks in advance.

You mention "moving back" so I assume you are local or a long term resident of Hong Kong.
As you've added "cant afford..." would you not consider sending your child to a local school or a local-private school...

No, not yet. AISHK is comparatively expensive. Especially the depreciable debenture. :(
Guess I will give it a try if I really have no offer at the end.

howardcommbs, yes, I was born in HK.
Our plan is to send our children back to Australia for tertiary education in 12 years. IS seems more suitable for this plan.
Besides, moving back to HK is already a big change for my children.
In my elder girl's current school, she has no homework except home reading. She enjoys reading books very much. She even reads books for her younger sister every night. I know how harsh HK local schools are (with lots of home work) and don't really like that kind of school life.
However, at the end, if there is really no spot, I might have to choose one. :(

I do know what you mean about lots of homework as I've put 3 kids thru the local system, but to my mind, it makes the kids better and stronger. I put them thru chinese education while in primary school and then changed them to English for secondary school.

MN_Ma, there is also a waitlist at AISHK. And, the debentures are sold out. So, you have to pay an annual capital levy... I think it's $14000 per annum. There is actually VERY little difference between AISHK and ESF once you consider the other outgoing costs you have to pay at ESF.
