Commuting from Saikung to HKIS (Repulse Bay)

My daughter's been offered a spot at HKIS for R1. Since they are introducing mandatory school busing this coming academic year, I'm wondering if anyone can share their experience busing their children from Saikung to the school (long day session, 7:45 - 1:45 PM).

I had heard that HKIS tries to keep time spent on the bus to 35 minutes, I don't really see how that will work for Saikung, but maybe they will just do pick up at Hang Hau MTR area, near the East tunnel?

Everything will be reset I think with all the new buses next year, but this year there is a bus from Kowloon Tong (Devon Road) that starts the run at 6:40am. It gets to the last stop in Kowloon (Chatham Road) at 7:10 and then heads directly to the school via the tunnel.

While school does start at 7:45, the buses run multiple trips (far away journeys first, then empty at the school, then a closer 'south side' run afterwards). We are in Midlevels and our out to meet the bus every morning about 6:50 or so. It's a bit rough.

Thank you penguinsix. I guess I should expect around 6:30 am to meet the bus. I'm also considering driving her close enough to school and then walking her there, but need to do a trial run first.

I live at the Peak and I had a choice between driving my daughter to HKIS at 7:30 and arrive school by 7:45. Or, taking the bus leaving at 6:50, and the bus riders usually arrive school at 7:40 or earlier. You can imagine how I feel about mandatory busing next year.

Sounds like a bad commute to me, especially if there is not school bus stop close to CWB/Sai Kung/Hang Hau. As for driving to a place close and then walk (because of the mandatory busing), I am sure you're not the only one and I truly doubt that's a long term solution that you can commit to.

If I were that keen on a school (which I can fully imagine) and plan to be here for the next few years, I'd move somewhere closer to a bus stop or the school ...
