If you have dcs who relocated to HK when they were older, I would love to hear your feedback.
We have an opportunity to relocate to HK on a package that covers school fees. We currently have a very comfortable life in NYC, but both my DH and I think this may be a great opportunity to expose our 6 and 11 year old to new cultures and the larger world. We're getting to the age when this would be the last chance to go off on an adventure (our parents are getting older, and do not want to move when our oldest is a teenager)
How hard was it for you to relocate your older kids? How was it getting them into schools and finding a place to live? Our children currently go to a progressive school and are happy in that model, so I would love feedback on schools that teach by experiencing rather than by listening.
On the one hand, we'd be crazy not to grab at this opportunity--things like this don't come along every day. We think it would be fantastic to open our kids eyes to the bigger world around them. On the other, we're comfortable now and why mess with that? I would love to hear people's experiences: both pro and con on their life in HK.
