Canadian International School - Waitlist

We received a letter yesterday from CDNIS that our 3 year old "has met the admissions standard" but because of no space, is currently on the waitlist for Pre-Reception. Does anyone know the chances of getting a seat off the waitlist? Do they keep the waitlist open through the 2011-2012 school year? Thanks! PS - we are not canadian nor do we have a debenture . . .

One mom told me a while back that her daughter was on the waitlist. So when her friend was selling a debenture, she bought it. On the same day she paid for it in the school she was told that voila a space opened up. She claims it is too much of a "coincidence" to call it perfect timing.

We were in the same boat, we waited and waited and then eventually took an offer from another school. Just as well as I doubt we would have got a place without a debenture.

I hope you have better luck :)

My friend was on the list for an entire year, then in order to stay on she had to pay application fee again. I would definitely look into other options ... Their applicants exceed the number of seats by far ...

Same with my friends. They had to pay the application fee again and go to the interview again. Also sometimes they were told that they were near the top of the list and sometimes they were told they were not. They just had no idea what to expect.

Same boat here, although our child applied to Reception. Not Canadian, no debenture, no sibling--should we just move on?

It is difficult to get in, but our daughter was accepted into Reception last year and we are not Canadian, had no debenture, no sibling, no connection to the school at all. So it is possible, you never know!

My son is also on the waiting list for Reception Class. No sibiling, not Canadian and no debenture.
BeaMae, May I know if your daughter was accepted at the first place or moved up from the waiting list?
