To IB or not to IB, that is the question!

i'm frustrating whether to put my daughter into a 'traditional school' vs 'IB' school. I would like to train up my girl to be an international leader...having a global civic perspective, being able to think and express freely in Putonghua and English. Aside having good academic standard and all rounded development in music, art & sports. and if possible having a good mix of culture in her learning environment. any suggestion of school pls?

as a teacher, i can tell you that no school can do what you have set out as the goal for your daughter. every school has its pros and cons - the most important thing is to find the school type that matches the learning style of your daughter.

I would encourage you to learn more about both approaches first and then try to observe your daughter carefully to see how she learns new things at home or when she is with other adults. Only until after you understand should you can decide which school is best for her.

if you want your daughter to becoming an "international leader", her education must come from both school and at home. it is easily forgotten that children are at school only 1/2 of the tine they are awakie, the rest of the time they are at home - so the joint effort of school and home is crucial and with this granted your daughter is in a school that fots her learning style, she will definitly succeed. no need to worry.
