Hi everyone,

My husband and I are planning to enroll our daughter in St. Paul's nursery this year. We're just wondering if anyone of you have any ideas on what to expect in the interview. My daughter just turned 2 on the 2nd of January 2008. We're still waiting for the application forms to be release and haven't been acepted but would like to get on top of things on what we need to do to prepare our daughter for the interview?

My husband and I doesn't know how to read and speak Chinese, so what are our chances to get accepted? Any clue? Daughter understands English very well but doesn't really talk as much. She mumbles a lot of words.

Please give advice. Thanks!

hi,

I haven't been to St. Paul's interview with my son but I have been to around 6 interviews for nursery and this is what I find we have been tested in most of the time - you can use it for reference as these should be quite similar across schools. Of course they will also look to the actual age of your child to dertermine what she is expected to know, but these are:-

naming objects - usually names of fruits, or simple things like cars, tables chairs...
Putting puzzles together - simple ones
namig colours
sorting shapes
taking simple instructions ( to pick up something , and give it to the teacher etc)
naming mommy, daddy etc
