Hi everyone, we are moving to Ma On Shan (from Australia) in 2 weeks time and we have a 26 months old toddler. Can anyone recommend a nursery/kindergarten in the area? Also, are there any swimming schools for toddlers around the area? We would also like to join a playgroup or meet mums with toddlers if anyone is interested. Thank you.

Hi lermo18

I think I can give you some information to you before you all coming to HK within 2-week time. There is a

Nursery / Kindergarten
- Boxhill kindergarten in Ma On Shan, I saw they have few western kids there, you can go to their website for information, Boxhill

kindergarten :
- ESF Kindergarten; ESF Educational Services Ltd 英基教育服務有限公司
- Wu Kai Sha ESF Kindergarten (near Ma On Shan) ESF Educational Services Ltd: ESF International Kindergartens
They are English Language education for children aged 3 to 5 years old.

there are many choices of play groups and kindergarten in Sai Kung area as well, however, it takes 20 mins to get to the town centre by car, kindergartens like:-

- ESF Abacus Int'l Kindergarten ESF Educational Services Ltd: ESF International Kindergartens

- Woodland Pre-school
www.woodlandschools.com/

- Leapfrog KKindergarten
Leapfrog

I hope these can help as my own child already turned to 12 few days ago, we are living in MaOn Shan almost 6 years since he is studying in RCHK, one of ESF school in MOS. However, most Westerners like to live in Sai Kung area, Discovery Bay and Hong Kong Side.

Hope you and your family enjoy the stay in here, and once you get to know HK well you will find it easier to choose the schools for your child.

best wishes
Yvonne

Thank you so much Yvonne! I really appreciate your comments. My husband is already there and did find Boxhill. I will check out all the other options once my little boy and I arrives in HK.

Hi lermo18

I'm in similar situation to you (just moved to Ma On Shan from Melbourne a month ago with family.

My son is just about to turn 3 but it seems like ESF hasn't got a place for him in their K1 until August and Greenfields is too structured so not right for him...

We are thinking of just having him attend a regular play group until he starts at Kinder next year at an International school...Did you have any luck finding a play group in the area?
