Kid's Camp During Diwali

Looking at the just released schedule for our son's school we can see that year 5 and some year 6 classes have their annual camp during the Diwali holidays ( Oct 25th through 28th ).

I am a bit surprised given how many Indian families send their kids to ESF.

Do other schools have camps during that timeframe?

Many of the schools do allow the kids to celebrate Diwali in the class rooms, but yes, I do think the planners would have not looked up possible holidays / festivals during those times. Add to that, some of these camps need to be booked several months in advance.

Pity.

Our Y6 camp is the week before ESF fall break. Y4 and 5 are later in the school year. I think it's just too hard to keep in mind everybody's agenda's, school holidays, other holidays, availabilities of locations, etc.

We got a note from our school apologizing. They have said we can take the kids out of camp for the day. However, our camp is in Sai Kung. Which is not going to easy picking up and dropping him back. We're still negotiating with our son. We're thinking of celebrating before he leaves for camp, so he won't feel left out.
