Important: New ESF Calendar Proposal

The number of teaching days won't really change, so I don't see why fees would go up - your ten months of fees already pay the staff 12 months of the year.......

I don't see why the needs of one set of parents (barristers etc) should be seen as any more ridiculous than the needs of those who want to take three weeks over Xmas to visit Australia; or those who want to get out of HK before July 1 to beat the rise in airfares - everyone has a personal agenda. The ONLYvalid agenda here is how best to maximise quality learning time. The last couple of weeks of term one are often a write of for young kids - they are just exhausted.

HappyV - Sense of entitlement that certain occupations have.

I also do not see why special considerations should be given to anyone...

I'm surprised to be honest that they're even considering a change to a system that has worked for so many years.

As the IB exams take place quite a lot earlier than the A levels, there is a very real need to look at how many teahing days the Year 13s get before they do their exams.

On the other hand, to start much earlier would put their school year completely out of sync with the UK/Europe. On the other hand, it matches more closely withe the US.

they really are in a bind.
