CDNIS Pre-reception vs FIS Maternelle

My husband and I will be moving to Hong Kong in fall of 2011 for three years and are trying to decide between the CDNIS Pre-reception program and the FIS Maternelle (Petite section) for our oldest child, both of which start at age 3. We are Canadian and our son is fluently bilingual in both English and French so the FIS would normally be a natural choice but we're concerned about the location of the Maternelle at the FIS in Sheung Wan since we will likely live on the Southside. As a consequence, the CIS is appealing due to its proximity - plus our son would have the chance to learn Mandarin in addition to English and French. If we choose CIS, we may hire a French tutor so that our son can improve his French at home.

Since we're only going to be in Hong Kong for 3 years, we're not overly concerned about secondary education. Does anyone have experience to share on either of these programs at age 3?
